O'Mahony and Myer is an electrical engineering and lighting design firm based in San Rafael, California. I have been working here over the summer since 2014. When I started, I did general office tasks like filing, labeling, moving, etc. I always tried to find ways to make it faster, and I usually ran out of work to do because I managed to complete everything quickly (but to high standards nonetheless). I started to learn drafting in AutoCAD, and began to learn more about electrical design when I became a drafter. Now, I do preliminary electrical design work, draft layouts, and visit sites. The electrical work that O'Mahony and Myer does is primarily commercial, so I have learned a lot about commercial electrical and solar projects. When I visit sites, I always find it very interesting to see the buildings on paper that have now been transferred to the real world, and it's great to be a part of that process.
